Review | Bourjois CC Cream

March 25, 2014

Up until last year I was very dubious about the whole BB/CC cream situation but using Dr Jart BB Cream and the Clinique CC Cream (review here) opened my eyes to the wonders of the new products. Today I'm sharing my opinion on the new release from Bourjois.

I use the lightest shade of the Bourjois CC Cream (number 31) and it suits my fair skin really well. I did wonder why they haven't kept the same shade numbers from their foundations (51/52/53) but never mind, there are 3 shades to choose from so it shouldn't be too difficult to find the one to suit you.

Bourjois CC Cream contains 3 pigments to work its colour correction magic; apricot for fatigue, green for redness and white to mask the dark spots. It definitely evens out my complexion and makes my skin look a lot smoother.

In terms of coverage, it's pretty light but buildable to medium if you wanted. I like to use the CC cream on its own for days when I don't want to wear lots of makeup (and  when I can't be bothered to spend ages applying various products - we all have those days, right?) It lasts at least  6-8 hours for me before I need to consider touching it up, something that's really impressive for a CC cream and especially for a product that's under £10!

I'd recommend it for the spring/summer transition if you're like me and prefer a lighter base over the (hopefully) warmer months and it's also great for younger skin which doesn't need a full face of foundation, but you want a light coverage that will even out your complexion.
I'm wearing the Bourjois CC Cream with NARS creamy concealer and a sweep of Rimmel Stay Matte powder (in transparent).

Have you tried Bourjois CC Cream? What did you think?

  1. I've just bought it, bit early to tell but I think I love it! I feel like it's going to be perfect for the warmer months and I love the idea of the colour correcting because I have loads of red marks. Definitely worth the money!

  3. I have been eyeing it, but haven't tried yet. I'm more foundation kind a girl and I'm not sure if I'll be able to use it up.

    1. Hmm, good point Laura. If you've found something you like and it works for you then you don't need to change do you?

  4. This sounds like a really lovely product! I'm just a bit worried about how well it'll last on my oily skin so I may have to look up a few more reviews before I decide whether to give it a go! Your skin looks amazing :)

    1. Hey Jess, hmm my skin isn't too oily so it's difficult for me to say. Hopefully you can find someone who's given it a go with a similar skin type to yourself. Thanks!

  6. I still have got to get myself on the CC cream bandwagon! I've tried BB creams, but not CC creams, so thank you for this review =]
