NARS 'Deep Throat' Blush

February 26, 2013

I've finally bought a NARS blush after a great deal of deliberation. I'd seen numerous posts by some of my favourite bloggers mentioning the blushes and after reading through their favourites, I opted to go for 'Deep Throat'. It also just so happened that when I ordered it (from ASOS) there was a 25% student discount offer on, which pretty much settled it.

I don't mind paying a little more for beauty products if I know I'm going to get something that's of a high quality and it's going to last me some time. I think this NARS blush is the most expensive one I've bought so far, I do own a few MAC ones (one of which was a repurchase after I lost the first one and I still, to this day, have no idea where it could be. Oh well) and in all honesty, I didn't need a new one. It was just a mix of influences from other bloggers, student discount and a general interest in trying one out that made me click that 'checkout' button.

'Deep Throat' is such a lovely pink with a gold shimmer running through it. I applied it with my Real Techniques Blush brush, which has been a firm favourite for blushes as it sweeps the colour across my cheekbones so evenly. Before buying the blush brush I had been using the buffing brush, which I've now adopted as my go-to foundation brush as it, well as you'd expect, buffs in the product so so well!

I teamed 'Deep Throat' with 'Celestial' from the Apocalips range for a nice daytime 'going-to-university' look. The colour and pigmentation of the blush is brilliant and I'm not disappointed at all, not that I expected to be. It's definitely a blush I could wear during the day for uni (as I did today) and build up to pair with a bold lip for an evening or an occassion when I wanted to look a little more made up. My first venture into NARS products is now drawing me towards others, especially those limited edition palettes. In the words of The Mask, "somebody stop me!"

What do you think of the NARS blushes? Would you recommend any of the other products? x
